Education – Higher Education

A college or university’s real estate strategy for its satellite locations must be carefully planned, with a focus on long-term sustainability and alignment with the institution’s overall mission and vision. Satellite campuses can be an essential part of the overall growth strategy, foster innovation through testing new programs, and enhance reputation. Universities should closely analyze overall build costs (construction and furniture/equipment), population density and potential revenue streams.

A satellite campus should be easily accessible to students, staff, and faculty, and ideally located in areas with a high demand for education and training services. The right location can enable partnerships with local businesses, government agencies, or other trade institutions to create functional and appealing learning environments. Some institutions may consider developing mixed-use properties, such as student housing or retail spaces, as a way to generate revenue and provide amenities for their students and faculty.
